PUBLIC ARTIST, SCULPTOR, DESIGNER
|BACK TO SOUND SCULPTURE||
A piece I created for the Koli Environmental Arts Festival, Finland. June 2015 I found this silver birch on my walks and just couldn’t resist the temptation of its broken form, so wonderfully symmetrical. The silver birch in Finland is very special and is used to a much greater extent then we use in England. I used a black and clear nylon thread for the two sides, the sound is deep and rich, the interaction with the tree is lovely, one can also play for others to listen.
